1st Annual NATHA GOLF TOURNAMENT FUN FOR ALL
On May 18, 2009 golf enthusiasts and supporters of NATHA enjoyed a beautiful day at the La Canada Flintridge Country Club as they enjoyed 18 holes of golf, putting & longest drive contests, a sumptuous dinner and silent auction in the 1st Annual NATHA Golf Tournament.
The tournament chaired by Victoria Williams was a success. Tournament Honorary Chairs were Bernard Melekian, Chief of Police City of Pasadena; Anthony Portantino, Assemblymember 44th District; Bill & Brenda Galloway, Real Estate Developers; Gene & Marilyn Buchanan, Business Owners. The funds raised will help NATHA to continue providing valuable programs & services to youth & community residents.
Tournament winners were First Place - Gene Buchanan, Robin Bieker, Blair Salisbury, Gary Boyett; Second Place - Aline Bakewell, Sandy Bourne, David Grant and Third Place - George Sugimoto and Richard Goto, along with putting contest winner Daniel McDaniel. No one won the hole-in-one prize of $5,000 sponsored by the J.G. Boswell Company. Everyone shared the common purpose of helping the youth & residents while enjoying a fun filled day on the golf course.
The awards program featured a plethora of exciting raffle prizes and dinner guests were invited to bid on silent auction items such as Lakers merchandise, Vacation get-aways, Tournament of Roses Parade Tickets, exquisite art, and fine dining entertainment packages.
Many thanks to the tournament sponsors Pasadena Magazine, J.G. Boswell Company, ING, and The John L. Raya Insurance Group as well as a host of local businesses, community members, and NATHA Board members who supported the event.
